• Hinge pins are visibly tilted or the hinge barrel is ovaled out. Hinge pins should sit straight and true. When you see one tilted even a few degrees, the hinge plate has warped under load. This is a fabrication fix – you can’t solve it by driving in a bigger pin. The plate has to be cut out, the frame re-trued, and a new plate welded in.
